I thought I would introduce you to a new temporary member of our team, please give a warm welcome to Harper :)
I know a lot of people don't like the reborn dolls but Harper isn't one of those, Harper is a Stand In Baby (SIB). A SIB is a training aid designed for newborn photographers to help them with posing and training. SIB is based on an average sized newborn baby weighing 7lbs - you can read more about SIB's here .
So the story as to how I became introduced to Harper goes like this. I was having a hard time getting useable in use photos of some of my props, and it was suggested that I try and rent a SIB. So I put out some feelers and I was lucky enough to be able to borrow Harper from a local photographer so that I could try and see if I could get this to work.
I thought it was a good idea because I do have some One of a Kind (OOAK) items and it would be good to show them on a model and at least this way it shows photographers how things fit and what they can expect.
So what do you think? Do you think this is a good idea, would it encourage you more to buy something knowing that it would fit a newborn?
